Miss World Returns Home Today

Miss World Kaiane Aldorino flies into Gibraltar at 4pm (CET).
If you would like to greet her at the airport, please be there by 3:30. As buses are being used to transport people to a special reception area on the runway.
At 4:45 Kaiane will be driven up Main Street in an open top car (weather permitting).
At 5.30 pm Kaiane will appear on the balcony of City Hall. Gibraltar songs will be sung by Francis Chipolina and Nathan Payas.
In the evening, the Chief Minister will host a reception in Kaiane's honour.
There will be a fireworks display from Detached Mole at 8 pm to mark Kaiane's victory.
The Government is to provide Gibraltar flags and confetti to thousands of people to use during the parade.

Miss Gibraltar is Crowned Miss World

Amidst great fanfare Miss World 2009 was crowned.

The winner Miss Gibraltar, Kaiane Aldorino looked stunning in a regal gown that showed off her figure to perfection.
The first runner up was Miss Mexico Perla Beltrán. And the 2nd runner up was Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar.

During the Question Answer round, Miss Gibraltar was asked that where would she take her family in Johannesburg? She replied that she would take her family to a lot of places in Africa and with in Johannesburg she would take them to the Lions Park.

Kaiane Aldorino is 22 years old and works in Human Resources. She is fluent in Spanish and English. She is an out-going person who enjoys traveling with her friends and family.

During her reign as the Miss World 2009, Kaiane Aldorino will be busy for the next one year traveling and doing social work in different countries. She will also crown the winner of the Miss World 2010 pageant, which is supposed to take place in Vietnam.

The ceremony was broadcast to an estimated one billion viewers around the world.

Ex-Miss Argentina Dies After Plastic Surgery

A former Miss Argentina has died from complications after undergoing cosmetic surgery on her bottom. The 38-year-old, who won the crown in 1994, died of a pulmonary embolism.
