Kevin Pietersen has been named as the new England cricket captain. He will reunite the Test and One-Day captaincy.
Michael Vaughan (test) and Paul Collingwood (one-yay) both resigned their respective captaincies yesterday.
Other possible names said to have been considered for the captaincy were Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook and Rob Key.
The flamboyant shot playing batsman got the nod from the selectors and will captain England against the test series winning South Africans (2-0) in both the one day series and the final fourth test.
