35th GIBRALTAR INTERNATIONAL ART COMPETITION

The Ministry of Culture is inviting entries for the 35th Gibraltar International Art Competition.

Entries will be exhibited at the Casemates Exhibition Galleries from the 4th to 14th November 2008.

The competition is open to anyone aged 16 and over.

A maximum of two artworks (painting and/or sculpture) may be submitted by each artist.

Works must be original and not previously entered competitively.

Prizes are:

• 1st Prize The Ministry of Culture Prize £4000 (The artwork will become the property of the Ministry)
• 2nd Prize The Gustavo Bacarisas Prize £1500
• 3rd Prize The Leni Mifsud Prize £1000
• Gibraltar Theme The Jacobo Azagury Prize £1000
• Young Artist The Rudecindo Mannia Prize £1000 (16-24 yrs)

Entries must be handed in at the Casemates Exhibitions Galleries from Monday 20th October 2008 between 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm. Closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 24th October 2008.
