Benarrabá is host to quite an important Feria at the end of February. The Feria Gastronómica of the Serranía de Ronda.
This chap is from the Deputación de Málaga. The leader of the deputación is due on Sunday.

There was a huge turnout on all three days. Coaches from all over the Málaga province poured into our usually tranquil pueblo.

Everyone was having a good time and the plaza was buzzing.

Gibraltar Blog

This was taken on the Saturday evening. Lots of good friends from the village.

Gibraltar Blog

Jane and I went to the plaza on Sunday afternoon. It was a grey day. This is the first Borage of the year in the village.
We saw the first House Martins and Swallows back from Africa last week. Summer's coming!

Malacai a local band were playing. Lots of people were dancing.

Gibraltar Blog

I hate dancing, especially wave your hands in the air dances. I can never remember what to do next.

Gibraltar Blog

Juan Jesus our neighbour plays the keyboards. Ivan has a great voice.

Gibraltar Blog

A few shots of some of our friends and neighbours.

Gibraltar Blog

Friends from Gaucín.

Cheer up Juan.
Juan is a wood carver. He makes organic/abstract pieces. Some practical like bowls and lamps, others just crazy abstract shapes.
He only sold one bowl. He's very pricey. He says it takes about eight hours to make a small olive wood bowl from collecting the wood to finishing it.
So he's only on 5€ an hour if he charges 40€. Which seems very expensive for a small bowl.

This is Antonio Ramos he's a venenciador.

Gibraltar Blog

I do a website for the village so often get asked to take photographs of visiting relatives. People with family outside the village also like to get on the website.

The fountain and plaza are covered by a large marquee.

A food themed fancy dress. All the human food products had one line speeches

Gibraltar Blog

Not a very healthy diet. Crisps, flour, ham sandwiches. There was a token carrot.

There was a tent with internet connections set up. These lads were looking after the stall.

We walk home, a good feria.
This is the beautiful domed church tower of Benarraba viewed through an orange tree.

Gibraltar Blog

The feria was a huge success. The busiest year ever.
Everyone ate, drank and danced. Except myself who just ate and drank.
Can't wait for next years.
This village knows how to party.
