The Government has on Friday (4/7/2008) signed the contract for the construction of Gibraltar’s new air terminal, and related facilities in Gibraltar.
The Contractor is Dragados SA, who won the tender conducted in accordance with the applicable EU tender procedures.
The contract extends to the construction of the new air terminal and related roads and buildings including a section of new road between the frontier crossing and the commercial gate, airfield apron and aircraft parking works, new cargo handling facilities, airport vehicles building, new customs facilities both for the airport and for the commercial land frontier crossing.
The contract sum is 59 million euros, and the contract provides for completion of all the works by April 2010.

The GHA’s Pathology Department has now received all the results of the 3,500 blood tests collected in Gibraltar. Laboratories in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the US have been engaged in analysing the tests within the time window identified by Julian’s Medical Team at Great Ormond Street.
