MINIMUM INCOME GUARANTEE
The Minimum Income Guarantee has been increased by 6% with retrospective effect to 1st April 2008, as follows:
• Single Persons - from £448.10 to £475.00 per month
• Married Couple - from £598.10 to £634.00 per month
The 65.2 per cent increase in old age pensions, which came into effect on 1st April 2007 will continue to be disregarded for the purposes of entitlement.
Subsequent increases in pensions will not be disregarded and pensioners will be compensated by this increase in the Minimum Income Guarantee level.
Recipients of Minimum Income Guarantee who are not in receipt of an old age pension will continue to receive a supplement at the rate of £26.10 per month for a single person and £34.80 per month for a married couple.
