GIBRALTAR NATIONAL WEEK 2008
PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITIVE EXHIBITION
The Gibraltar Photographic Society, in association with the Ministry of Culture, will hold a Photographic Competitive Exhibition at the John Mackintosh Hall from 8th to 19th September 2008.
The competition is open to all, though photographs that have come 1st, 2nd or 3rd in previous editions cannot enter.
Participants can enter up to 6 photographs each on the theme: ‘OUR GIBRALTAR’ Entries must be prints and can be in black and white and/or colour.
Photographs can be either mounted on thick card, or unmounted; but the longest side of the photograph must not exceed 30 cm.
The participant must have originated and must own the copyright of all work submitted.
This applies equally to all components of composite images, whether assembled by traditional or digital means.
The use of “copyright free” or “clip art” material is not acceptable.
Each photograph must carry on the back the name, address and contact telephone of the entrant.
Photographs must be handed in on or before Friday 22nd August 2008 at the John Mackintosh Hall reception.
Entries will also be accepted at the premises of the Gibraltar Photographic Society at Wellington Front on Tuesday 26th August, between 7.00pm and 10.00pm.
All photographs must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, and the envelope marked: NATIONAL WEEK PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION The envelope must also carry the name and address of the author.
Prizes are:- 1st prize: £300 and trophy
- 2nd prize: £200 and trophy
- 3rd prize: £100 and trophy
Winners will be announced and prizes presented during the official opening of the exhibition, which will be held at the John Mackintosh Hall on Monday 8th September 2008 at 7.00pm.
Entrants and their guests are welcome to the official opening. All entries will be treated with every care but the organisers cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage.
Once the exhibition is over, entries may be collected from the Society’s premises on any subsequent Monday evening, from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.
Entries not collected by Monday 3rd November 2008 will be considered unwanted, and disposed of.
