Manuel Ruiz de Lopera has sold his 52 percent share in the club to the Sevilla businessman Luis Castel.
Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, was the main shareholder in the Betis football club in Sevilla, he has reached an agreement with the local businessman, Luis Castel, for the sale of 52% of the shares in the club.
According to sources, talks on the sale of the shares have been taking place over recent days and that they are ‘almost complete’. A figure in the region of €50million as been speculated on in the Sevilla press.
Manuel Ruiz de Lopera bought Betis during a time of crisis in 1992.
He was born in Priego de Córdoba in August 1944. The club's stadium is named after him.
Snr. Manuel Ruiz de Lopera is currently facing charges of financial irregularities.
