A small bomb has exploded on a beach in the Costa del Sol resort of Guadalmar following a warning call, causing no injuries and little damage.
A caller who said he spoke in the name of the Basque separatist group ETA warned fire services in Benalmádena that three bombs would explode.
The caller said bombs were placed in Guadalmar, Benalmádena and on a road linking Málaga to its international airport.
In July, ETA set off a series of bombs in Spain’s northern resorts of Laredo and Noja. ETA has been fighting since 1968 for an independent Basque homeland in northern Spain and southern France.
