Prince Kardam Madrid Crash JaguarPrince Kardam, the eldest son of Bulgaria's former Tsar and PM Simeon Saxe-Coburg, is being kept in an artificial coma. The pain he would feel would be so acute he would need very strong medication. A decision to keep him in an artificial coma is so that the Prince can be pain free and medications minimised.

The prince suffered severe brain-scull trauma, both his hands are severely damaged. It has been reported that the Prince has lost two fingers.

However one good sign is that his breathing and vital signs are improved, according to Galiya Dicheva, spokesperson of the Former Bulgarian Tsar and Former Prime Minister.

Ms. Dicheva went on to say that Kardam's entire family was in the hospital and that his father's press center in Bulgaria continues to receive letters and phone calls expressing the support of many Bulgarians for the royal family.

The prince's wife Miriam Ungria y Lopez, who was also injured in the accident, her condition is reported to be stable.
